I only knew Paul as my friend's dad, but as we all know, there was nothing that was "only" about Paul. He was the kindest man you could wish to meet; a funny, generous, beautiful guy who made a big impression on me as a teenager. He assured I'd be safe, that he would be there if I needed him, and I knew he meant it. I can't thank Paul enough for being a rock for Cheri and I as we drove him up the wall and kept him up to god knows what time in the morning.
